(Mexico City, 1968) Studied Philosophy at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and was part or Gabriel Orozco's workshop from 1987 to 1991. Using diverse artistic practices including painting, video, sculpture and installation Cruzvillegas work is characterized for operation with and by reality, using "found objects", everyday objects that questions global economy, current values, commodities and present-day reality altering their meaning from a discomfort standpoint thus giving them a new meaning.
