Critic, historian and curator of art. He was curator of contemporary art at the Musee d'Art Moderne de la Ville in Paris, where he conducted the Migrateurs program, and co-curator of Manifesta 1, the first edition of the contemporary art event in Europe, which takes place every two years. Obrist is the author of The interview Project an exhaustive and endless project of interviews with artists, and co-editor of the French magazine Cahiers d'art. In 2009, Obrist was ranked by ArtReview magazine as one of the hundred most powerful people in the art world, and in the same year was named an honorary member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). He is a contributor to magazines 032c magazine, Abitare Magazine, Artforum and Paradis Magazine. He is currently Co-Director of Exhibitions and Programs and Director of International Projects at Kensington Gardens in London.
