Iconoclastas

Iconoclastas

Argentina

Argentine collective formed by Pablo Ares (artist, film animator, cartoonist and graphic designer) and Julia Risler (BA in Communication Sciences and PhD student at the University of Buenos Aires). They combine graphic design, communication and research to generate graphic resources aimed to establish ruptures in hegemonic meanings, as a form of resistance and influence in the social imaginary, but also as a proposal for change and transformation. All the material created has free circulation (through creative commons licenses) and can be downloaded from the website and reproduced as long as is not for commercial purposes. Since 2005 they have been working together on the idea of "laboratory", understood as a space where imaginative deployment activates creation, allowing them to move between different formats, devices and scenarios, in order to model research and graphic design tools that promote collaborative practices. Since 2008 they carry out collective mapping workshops with social movements, gender groups, communication groups and art groups, using maps and multiple devices for the socialization of knowledge and experiences aimed to build a collective and transformative narrative about the territory.
