Independent curator and researcher, resident of Sao Paulo and, since 1996, visiting professor at Bard College Centre of Curatorial Studies in New York, the first and foremost master’s programme in contemporary art curator training. He was Technical Director of Sao Paulo Bienal Foundation (199-2000).

His most recent exhibitions include InSite 2000 (San Diego/ Tijuana), F[r]icciones (F[r]iction), Museo Reina Sofia, Madrid (2000) and the “Canada&United States” section of the exhibition Roteiros, at the 24^th Sao Paulo Biennial (1998). He was worked in areas such as research, exhibition, organization and consultant services in several cultural institutions, including the Sao Paulo Biennial Foundation (1980-1988); the Winnipeg Art Gallery, at Winnipeg, Canada (1989-1993); the Sao Paulo Art Museum-MASP (1995): The Installation Gallery, San Diego, California (1996-2000): Wolfsburg Art Museum, Wolfsburg, Germany (1997-1998); the National Gallery of Canada. Ottawa (1998-2001); and the Museo Reina Sofía. Madrid (1998-2000).

In 1991 he organized an international conference titled “Arte e Identidade” (Art and Identity) for the Latin American Memorial in Sao Paulo, in conjunction with Arts International of New York. He has given lectures and conferences and participated in workshops in institutions such as The Fine Arts Museum of Buenos Aires (1992), the Luis Angel Arango Library in Bogotá (1993), the Bronx Museum in New York (1989 and 1994), “la Caixa” Foundation in Madrid (1995 and 1997) and the Royal College of Arts, in London (1997). He has published essays in the following books: InSite97: Private Time in Public Space (Sally Yard, ed., San Diego: Installation Gallery, 1999); Latin American Art in the XX Century (Edward J. Sullivan. ed; Pahidon Press, 1996) and Modemidade: Vanguardas Artísticas na América Latina (Ana María M. Beluzzo. ed.; FMAL/UNESP, 1992). He is, moreover, author of F[r]icciones (Madrid, MNCARS. 2001), co-authored with Adriano Pedrosa; Daniel Senise: Ela Que Nao Está (Sao Paulo, Cosac&Naif. 1998); Leonilson: Use, É Legal.
