Director of the P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, New York, where he has served as curator since 1996. Biesenbach has organized and co-curated numerous international shows, both collective and individual, during his stint as MoMA New York's Media and Performance Department curator-in-chief. Highlights include Douglas Gordon (2006), Doug Aiken (2007) and Pipilotti Rist (2008). In 1991 he found-ed the Kunst-Werke Institute for Contemporary Art (KW) in Berlin as well as the Berlin Biennial in 1996.
