She is an editor and a photographer. She has edited and published essays in the Mexican photo journal Luna Córnea as well as articles and photographs in different magazines and newspapers in Mexico such as Reforma, La Tempestad, Picnic, Letras Libres and Tierra Adentro. She co-edited (with Mara Fortes) the book Chris Marker: Inmemoria, a volume about the French filmmaker, as well as the first Spanish translation of Amos Vogel's Film as a Subversive Art. Both books were published under the imprint Ambulante Ediciones. Her photographic work has been exhibited in Mexico, the United States and Germany. She recently participated in the exhibition Magnetic Currents at Cal State Channel Islands and The Front Gallery in San Diego. She is the founder of Taller California, a press and printing workshop in the Tijuana-San Diego region. The press publishes artists’ books that treat the border as both a socio-political place and a liminal and creative space. Taller California promotes hybrid genres, multilingualism, collaboration, and experimentation.
