(Mexico, 1960, lives in Mexico City). He has studies in Theology and Film, and graduate in information Science by the Universidad de Lima and did studies on screenplay at the Escuela Internacional de Cine Latinoamericano in Cuba. He was director in the Literature and Humanities Department at the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana, and director of the Escuela Dinámica de Escritores in México. He received the Premio Nacional del Libro in 2008 (by the Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán), as well as he Guggenheim Grant in 2002. Some of his projects include: Mujeres de sal (Salta women, 1986), Efecto invernadero (Greenhouse effect, 1992), Salón de Belleza (Beauty Parlor, 1994), Poeta ciego (Blind poet, 1998), and Flores (Flowers, Xavier Villaurrutia Award, 2002). He is currently working in the Project Los cien mil libros de Mario Bellatin, which consists in a hundred book edition of his authorship of one thousand prints each where he looks to explore the relationship between literature and conceptual art.
