(Mexico, 1967). Philosopher by profession, Charpenel has carried out an intense task as both curator and collector, highlighting the paradoxes and ambiguities of the contemporary world. He has presented a number of important exhibitions in various forums, such as Gabriel Orozco, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Mexico City; Paseos / Walks by the artist Francis Alÿs, Museo de Arte Moderno, Mexico City; Franz West, Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico City; Interplay, Moore Space, Miami, among others. He has also published critical texts in specialized journals and is a member of the Centro Pompidou-América Latina Council, Paris, France. His collection is composed by a heterogeneous group of works. It is nonetheless articulated on the basis of certain lines of research, such as lineage, the structure of ideas and the extension of the artistic experience in the social domain. He lives and works in Guadalajara.
