Shuddhabrata Sengupta

Artist, curator and co-founder of Raqs Media Collective, along with Monica Narula and Jeebesh Bagchi. As filmmaker, writer and artist his practice refers to textual explorations on aesthetics, surveillance, and ciberculture, specifically in new media, digital art, and urban experiences. His work includes art, curatorial studies, book editing, cinematography, performance and multiple collaborations with architects, writers, and theater direction. 

Raqs work has been shown in different international events, such as Documenta 11(2002), Istambul Biennial (2007), Venice Biennial (2005 and 2015). They have also shown their work at Walker Art Center in Mineapolis, the Palais des BEaux Arts in Brussels, Liverpool Biennial among many other art spaces. Raqs Media Collective also participates on the Sarai program, at the Center for the study on developing societies, created in 2000. in 2008 they co-curated Manifesta 7.
