(Madrid, 1962). Independent curator. Since 1990 he works on contemporary art alternative projects. Co-leaded the International Performance Festival in Madrid. He founded El ojo atómico, where he developed an Installation Program for specific sites projects during three years. He moves to México in 1997 and collaborates with La Panadería alternative space. He goes back to Madrid in 2000 and begins his own project as an artist – aka Tom Lavin – about the Spanish identity. In 2003, he reopens El ojo atómico – anti-museum of contemporary art – with the purpose to contribute to a transformation of the ways to make art in the city of Madrid, impelling the cultural critic of the institutions and cultural policies. He collaborates with diverse publications in Spain and México.
Recently he participated in ¿Un lugar bajo el sol? Los espacios para las prácticas creativas actuales. Revisión y analísis in the Spanish Cultural Center in Buenos Aires (August 2006) and received a scholarship in curatorial investigation of Artium, for the development of the project “Micromuseums” in the Basque Country throughout 2006 – 2007.
