French architect, urbanist and designer. His work includes theory texts and urban models. In 1958 he founded the Groupe d'étude d'architecture mobile (GEAM), it lasted 4 years, where he focused on research and action to adapt architectonic creations to the high demand of the citizens physical and social mobility. Friedman’s work revolves around physical and virtual mobility, the need to adapt urban solutions to the everyday modern life, the relation between art and science, migration and sustainable constructions. He has also collaborated with the UN and UNESCO by distributing self-construction manuals in Africa, South America and India.
