Daniela Pérez

Is associate curator at Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo (Mexico). She earned a BA in Art History at Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico) and a MA in Curating Contemporary Art at the Royal College of Art (London). Among other projects she co-curated Public Smog by Amy Balkin (2006), as well as the exhibitions Various Small Fires (2007), both in London. Her MA dissertation entitled [un] dis-placement: exploring sites deals with the impact of intercultural communication and the recognition of “foreign” territories in contemporary art. She has worked at institutions such as Museu de Arte Moderna in Sao Paulo for the exhibition MAM [na] Oca (2006) and realized curatorial practices at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York and Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil, Mexico City. From 2003- 2005 she worked with the artist Miguel Calderón, and coordinated among other projects, the production of his video Mexico vs. Brazil (2004) for the XXVI Bienal de Sao Paulo.
