Historian and anthropologist, researcher at the Instituto de Investigaciones Históricas, UNAM and member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores. His research subjects are the indigenous conception of time and history, as well as the transformation of the Amerindian societies after the conquer up to the present. Among his publications are Los pueblos indigenas del México contemporáneo (2008), Las relaciones interétnicas en México (2004), La conquista de México (2000) y La vida cotidiana en tiempos de los mayas (1996). He has published Huesos de Lagartija, a historic-novel, and many different literature pieces of historic divulgation for children and young people.
