Roger M. Buergel (Alemania, 1962) es organizador de exposiciones y autor. Fue curador, junto con Ruth Noack, de Things We Don’t Understand (Generali Foundation, Viena, 2000), Governmentality. Art in Conflict with the International Hyper-Bourgeoisie and the National Petty Bourgeoisie (Alte Kestner Gesellschaft, Hannover, 2000), The Subject and Power - the Lyrical Voice (Central Home of Artists (CHA), Moscú, 2001);  The Government, exposición en la cual participó como curador junto con Ruth Noack, Kunstraum de la Universidad de Lüneburg (2002-2005); Barely Something (a retrospective of Ai Weiwei), Museum DKM, Duisburg (2010); Garden of Learning, Busan Biennale (2012). Fue profesor visitante de Historia del Arte en la Art Academy Karlsruhe (2007-2009). Entre sus libros, podemos citar Peter Friedl, Leipzig y Amsterdam, 1999, y Abstrakter Expressionsimus. Konstruktionen ästhetischer Erfahrung, Leipzig y Amsterdam, 2000. Contribuye regularmente en Texte zur Kunst y Springerin – hefte für gegenwartskunst. Fue el director artístico de Documenta XII (2007).
